If there’s anyone we’re thankful to have this holiday season, it’s you – thank you so much for joining us for Homecoming Week! We had tons of fun and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the turnout.
So without further ado, our roundup of #HomecomingNU:
Meet the Court & Mayor of Huntington Ave
Things got shaking Monday night when we got a sneak peek at 2014’s amazing candidates for the Homecoming Court and Mayor of Huntington Ave. It was a tough choice for Huskies to make on myNEU, but nonetheless, a consensus was reached. A big congratulations to Homecoming King and Queen, Jon Letts and Tasha Radzinski, and to our Mayor, Andrew Horowitz!
We paused for a moment of silence on Veteran’s Day when we honored and recognized Northeastern alumni and students dedicating their lives to serve our country. Followed up with volunteer events in the Indoor Quad, such as writing letters to soldiers, the Northeastern community joined hands to show our awe and appreciation. And from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
On Wednesday, we loved seeing creative minds work on wooden Huskies at the Indoor Quad, and had so much fun seeing what you came up with! All the beautiful, brilliant, and hilarious Huskies were put on display for everyone to see and think, “I wish I came up with that!”
We know you’re proud to show off your colors – red and black are very flattering after all. But of course, the fun didn’t stop there! The Red and Black Day Fair was chock-full of things to do, like a stuff-your-own-husky station, a caramel apple bar, photobooth with Paws, and free Homecoming swag! Needless to say, we were happy campers.
The red and black carpet was laid out Friday night for our Homecoming Headliner, Kevin Spacey! Channeling his dark character, Frank Underwood on House of Cards, Huskies got plenty of sage advice on surviving college. It was a night of laughter and scheming – don’t they make a great pair?
Thank you all again so much for joining us for a wild Homecoming Week! We couldn’t have asked for a better time with better people. Head over to see the great shots from the events at our Facebook page, or with the hashtag #HomecomingNU.
See you all again at next year’s Homecoming!
